FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Boston, MA (October 3, 2024) - The Philippine-American Mainstream Advocacy for Non-Partisan Association (PAMANA), dedicated to fostering unity among Filipino American communities in New England, is proud to join the nation in celebrating Filipino American History Month this October.
As we honor the rich cultural heritage and contributions of Filipino Americans, PAMANA reaffirms its commitment to promoting unity, understanding, and resilience within our community.
Filipino American History Month is a time to recognize the long-standing history of Filipino Americans in the United States, dating back over 400 years. This month, we celebrate the countless achievements of Filipino Americans in the arts, sciences, politics, and beyond. It is also a time to reflect on the sacrifices and challenges our community has overcome, while looking ahead to the continued pursuit of equity and inclusion.
"PAMANA is honored to stand with Filipino Americans across the country during this important month of reflection and celebration," said Jelyn Masa, Chair of PAMANA. "Our mission to foster cooperation and mutual understanding among Filipino American organizations in New England is more important than ever. Filipino American History Month reminds us of the strength and unity of our community, both here and abroad."
PAMANA also extends its gratitude to Governor Maura Healey for her proclamation recognizing Filipino American History Month in Massachusetts, further highlighting the important contributions of the Filipino American community to the Commonwealth.
PAMANA encourages all Filipino American organizations and individuals to take part in the many activities and events happening this month to celebrate our shared heritage. As an organization that strives to mobilize and support the community during times of need, PAMANA remains committed to responding to the call for solidarity and resilience whenever the community faces challenges, both locally and in the Philippines.
